IPEA's Excipient GMP Conformance Certification Program offers the pharmaceutical industry confidence their excipient supplier is in substantial conformance with excipient GMP without the costs associated with a site audit. The cost of the program begins with certification. The first year, the price to be certified is $22,000 for a single site that manufactures a single excipient (often including multiple grades). Additional excipients or manufacture that includes contract operations are priced according to the additional time required for the on-site audit. The annual fee for surveillance audit and recertification is half the price of certification.

IPEC-Americas member companies receive a 10% discount from all prices unless otherwise posted.

IPEA also offers the pharmaceutical industry added confidence in the conformance of the excipient supplier through the sale of the Certification Audit Report. The Certification Audit Report is available for the purchase price of $500 for IPEC-Americas member companies and $750 for non-members. Most of the proceeds from report sales are provided as a credit to the excipient supplier to reduce their annual surveillance cost.

As always, IPEA is committed to maintain the confidentiality of the Certification Audit Report as well as the identity of those companies that have purchased the report. Also, the excipient supplier is informed of each report purchase.

How to Request a Certification Audit

To initiate a certification audit of an excipient-producing facility, it is necessary to complete a Certification Audit Application and return it to IPEA by emailing as an attachment to ipeainc@aol.com, or mailing:
